We have proud privilege to have established Innovation and Entrepreneurship Devffcpment Centre (IEDC) with the helftof NSTEDB, Department of Science’t&d Technology (DST), Govt, of India. ^Mhave the First and Only Business IncuBator (BI) in state
of Chhattisgarh, which is recognized by Ministry of MSME, New Delhi. The mission of the IEDC and BI is to “develop institutional mechanism to create entrepreneurial ‘culture in academic institutions to foster growth of innovation and entrepreneurship among the faculty and students”. Every year more than Ten innovative student projects are offered full financial support for prototyping, testing and finally providing all essential training and support to establish a successful Start­up company.

The Koneru Lakshmaiah Charities was established as a trust in the year 1980 and started KL College of Engineering in the Academic year 1980-81. The trust was converted into a Society by the name Koneru Lakshmaiah Education Foundation in the year 1996. The KL College of Engineering attained autonomous status in the year 2006 and in February 2009, the Koneru Lakshmaiah Education Foundation Society was recognised as Deemed to be University. In short, Koneru Lakshmaiah Education Foundation has been named K L University.

KL University designed its programmes keeping in view the all­round development of the students. The design of the programmes is unique that more emphasis is laid on project-based and practice-based learning. Projects are done in the LABS and the practice is undertaken after delivery of every topic in the classrooms. The students are made to use the tools which are used in the industry. More emphasis is made in making the students gain problem­solving abilities with huge logic orientation that paves the way for getting the students placed in the Industry with ease. One more differentiator is taking research to the classrooms. Research is taken into the classroom through inclusion into the curriculum, the course that relates to Term papers, dissertations, thesis, project reports and making the publications out of the research conducted as one of the major outcomes. A special training called CPT (Campus placement training) by both external and internal experts has greatly added value to the students by making them fully ready for placements.

KL University has developed 78 state- of-the-art academic laboratories, 16 research laboratories, 6 industry collaboration labs and 6 centres of excellence. 800 Mbps hi-speed Internet connectivity round the clock in the campus and in the hostel and the campus is fully Wi-Fi enabled. The infrastructure of KL University also includes a Entrepreneurship Cell, sports and games complexes, Banking and post office facilities, a modern library housing 1,80,000 books, ,18,000 Journals, 600 e-books, a Cloud-based data centre built around parallel computing, 2,759 computing systems, hostels for girls and boys with all the modern amenities, a
great fleet of 94 buses transporting the students to different parts of the neighbouring cities, well-ventilated classrooms and laboratories that are fitted with modern gadgets that make the’students learn the subject content with ease. Up to 100% Fee Waiver is given fo: Sports/NCC/Cultural participations. Fee waiver/concession is applicable for the Rankers of EAMCET, IIT-JEE KLUEEE, Intermediate (10+2) Examt of the year. Students of other States are provided with a special fee waiver anc eligibility criterion is relaxed to include diversity of students in campus.

Research is taken intc classroom through the faculty pursing their research and discussing the industrial consultancy problems. A separate R & D Cell is established to closely monitor and encourage faculr to do research in thrust areas.
